A quiet imprint, built on twenty years of watching people think.
The Pause Office is created by Shireen Ali-Khan. The journals and tools published here come out of a long career spent in the gap between what people intend to do and what they actually do.
Shireen Ali-Khan is a coach, facilitator and behavioural specialist based in London, UK.
For more than twenty years she has worked with organisations, teams and individuals on how people actually think, decide and act, often when things feel uncertain, stuck, or harder than they should be. That work has taught her that change rarely comes from louder messaging or more pressure. It comes from slowing down enough to think clearly.
The Pause Office grew out of the same conviction, turned toward the page. The journals here are made for the private version of that work: the decisions you turn over on your own, the doubt that shows up before a change, the quiet business of figuring things out.
Considered, well-made, and quietly on your side. Tools that take you seriously without telling you how to feel.
A journal asks nothing of you in the moment except a little honesty. There is no app to open, no streak to keep, no one watching. Just structure enough to give your thinking somewhere to go, and space enough to let it.
Each one is built around a single piece of reflective work: building self-trust, recording your wins, or making a steadier decision. Each is designed to be returned to rather than finished. They are not therapy, and they are not productivity. They are a way of paying attention.
Shireen is also the creator of the 12 Minute Hero Method, a behavioural framework for building momentum through small, consistent action; the same belief in modest, repeatable effort runs quietly through everything published here.

Journals are the closest thing to a real conversation with yourself. They slow the thinking down, hold what you write, and let you come back to it later. The Pause Office exists to make that conversation easier to have.

Each journal is built on the 12 Minute Hero Method, a behavioural approach Shireen developed for small, doable practices that build over time. The journals are designed to work on hard days as well as good ones.

Yes. More journals are in development, each addressing a different area of reflective work. The Journals page is where new titles will appear.
